If you are in DC, the 4th annual Meat-Free Week kicked off yesterday. From Feb. 4-11, restaurants and other venues throughout the city will be hosting veg-friendly meals, parties and cooking demonstrations. You can check out the schedule on Meat-Free Week. Tonight’s highlight is Vegan Mexican at Casa Oaxaca. They will be offering a three-course meal of traditional Mexican favorites (vegan style), including Pastel Tres Leches, a moist sponge cake soaked in 3 milks (made with tofu, coconut and almond milk) and infused with rum.
